Spend your holiday in the beautiful Dordogne region, one of the few places in France, which has so much to offer the visitor. A warm welcome awaits you in our home, which is perfectly situated in picturesque countryside close to medieval Sarlat.
Les Quatre Pins has a sunny aspect, set in a large secluded garden and provides a quiet retreat after a day visiting the delights of the Dordogne.. To the side of the house there is a private sun terrace with table and chairs and swimming pool with sun loungers, cushions and parasols.
Accommodation consists of two comfortably furnished ground floor bedrooms each with it's own external private entrance. One double room, which has double doors leading directly onto the pool-side sun terrace, the room has its own private large bathroom, which has bath with shower attachment, separate shower, hand basin and toilet. One twin bedded room with garden and countryside aspect, the room has a large en-suite shower room with hand basin and toilet.
Continental breakfast is served outside on the sun-terrace overlooking the garden or in the dining room.
For guests use there is a fridge to store food and drinks, we also provide plastic plates, glasses and cutlery to enable guests to prepare and have light meals on the sun terrace. Also for guests use there is a drying area for pool towels and swimwear.
Les Quatre Pins is ideally placed for visiting medieval Sarlat, with its excellent market, art galleries, exhibitions and street entertainment of all kinds. Within a short driving distance from Les Quatre Pins, the Dordogne valley village of La Roque-Gageac, with its honey-coloured houses huddled against the cliff and its pretty river frontage, the village is one of the most striking villages along the Dordogne. Further along the valley, visit the castle of Castelnaud, which houses the medieval war museum. Also along the valley, Beynac, which is built in stages above the water’s edge, cliff topped by an impressive Fort. Nearby Domme is a captivating bastide town, with its old white stone houses with their brown tile roofs and flowery balconies, standing on a towering hill overlooking the peaceful meandering river Dordogne. Visit the spectacular medieval village of Rocamadour, dramatically sited on a steep rock face in the gorge of the Alzou, experience the magic of the village and its breathtaking position. Alternatively you can travel through beautiful countryside and visit some of the most important prehistoric sites in France, the famous cave paintings of Lascaux or visit the prehistoric museum at Les Eyzies and the spectacular caves in the surrounding area, Font-de-Gaume, Les Combarelles and the Grand Roc.
Along with its castles, churches, gardens, pretty villages, produce and craft markets and variety of activities, Sarlat and the Dordogne valley has something for everyone.
Les Quatre Pins is situated within walking distance of Grolejac, the village offers a tennis court, lake with beach, canoeing on the Dordogne, walking on marked-out footpaths, cycle hire is available, horse riding and a nine hole golf course are nearby, or enjoy a leisurely picnic on the banks of the river Dordogne. Grolejac has two Restaurants, an Auberge and a Pizzeria/Bar/Restaurant in which to enjoy delicious food and wines of the region. Many more Restaurants are within a short car journey.
The nearest Airport is at Bergerac which is situated 50 miles/85 kms from Grolejac, serviced by Ryanair, Flybe and Jet 2..
Alternatively Limoges, Rodez and Toulouse Airports are all within a two hours car journey. Bordeaux Airport a three hour car journey.
